Rogue Spear Team Ladder Rules: Effective December 23, 2000 Signing up: When you join the ladder, you join the ladder using the CWN ID. This ID is able to be obtained by signing up at the Clan Database. Every player must put in there correct information. Entering False information is prohibitted. The Clan Database was created so that there would be one account per clan and player account used for all ladders. Meaning there should only be one Clan Account used for all ladders unless the leader is different. Player accounts are used the same way unless they play for another clan in a different game. He/she may want to make a new account to keep things simple. BUT 2 ACCOUNTS MAY NOT BE ON THE SAME LADDER FOR ANY REASON. ALL Clans are responsible for passwords. Admins do not have access to passwords. The Clan leader is sole responsible for its account. If anything is lost or stolen, we are not responsible. Beginning: When you join the ladder, you are put into the "Unranked" pool. Everyone within the pool has a rank of zero, no matter what their Wins/Losses look like. Getting Ranked: In order to get out of the "Not Ranked" pool, you must win a game. It doesn't matter who you beat, they can be ranked #1, #38, or they can be a fellow member of the "Not Ranked" pool. When you get that first win, you are automatically placed on the very bottom rung of the ladder. So if there were 50 ranked players when you got your first win, you are ranked #51. Again, it doesn't matter who you beat, your first win only pulls you out of the "Not Ranked" pool and onto the bottom rung of the ladder. Ranking: Once you are out of the "Unranked" pool and have a rank on the ladder, new rules apply. From here on out, the following rules apply to you. Play often! Losses do not count against you 99% of the time! The only way a loss can hurt you is if the person you lose to is ranked DIRECTLY below you on the ladder. For instance, if you are ranked #50 and you lose to #51, essentially the two of you swap ranks, and you are now ranked #51. When you beat a person ranked higher than you, you will move up the ladder half the distance between your current position and the current position of the player you beat. Example: #100 beats #50. #100 will now be ranked #75, since half the distance between 50 and 100 is 75. If half the distance between you and your opponent is a .5 decimal (i.e. 72.5) your rank is rounded down. Example: #101 beats #50. #101 will now be ranked #75, since half the distance between 50 and 100 is 75.5 and we round down to 75. When someone moves up the ladder in either of these fashions, everyone between his new and old position on the ladder will all move down one rung. So in our first example, the ranks 75 - 99 would move down one rung to make room for him at the #75 position. Clan Representation: All Clans should have a clan representative to talk to a ladder admin other then its leader in event of a problem. Clan ladder admins will only talk to the clan leader or its representative over a problem that concerns it clan only. Clan ladder admins DO NOT have to inform a clan's normal members of the situation. Its up to the Clan Leader or Rep to inform its clan. EACH CLAN IS TO HAVE ONLY ONE CLAN REPRESENTATIVE ONLY The Clan Representative's name should be listed in the Comments box of its Clan Database Account. (Ladder Admins can not represent themselves to ladder admins) If no clan representative is listed the leader is the only one an admin will speak too. Game Rules: A match will consist of the best of 5 maps, with the best of 5 games per map. To win a map, a team must have 3 victories on that map; a victory is indicated with Mission Success in the team results screen. To win a match, a team must win 3 maps. A shorter match may be played, consisting of the best of 3 maps, if both teams agree. If agreement is not made, the best of 5 maps is the default. At the conclusion of a match, the losing team/player must report immediately. If we have problems with someone not reporting, they will be removed from the ladder. Game Settings: -Type: Adversarial -Rules: Team Survival -Insertions: Random -Length: 5:00 -Blue: Blue Medium -Gold: Desert Medium ALL TEAM GAMES Must have the minimum of 2 players per team and must match the opposing sides number of player. No 2 Vs 3, 4 Vs 3, etc. - Unless drop rule takes affect. The Higher Seed cannot force a match higher then 4 players per team in a game. Any more players must be agreed by both sides. This is for both tournaments and common challenges. ALL MODS ARE FORBIDDEN - Reticules, Skins, NATO etc. The team with the lower rank (i.e., higher on the ladder) picks the first map played and the higher ranked team (i.e., lower on the ladder) picks the team color for the first map. The roles then alternate, with the lower rank picking color for the second map and the higher rank picking the second map, and so forth and so on. The team with the better rank will always get to chose more maps (i.e., out of 5 maps, they pick 3). [For clarification purposes, a lower rank would be team ranked #1 and a higher rank would be team ranked #100] No clan may pick the same map more then 2 times in a game unless both teams agree. Home team is the higher ranked team and picks the first 1, 3, 5. or if 3 games are play home team picks 1, 3 maps. Teams are allowed to alternate hosting, but the hosts should have at LEAST a cable modem. If a last and deciding map is required in the match, a neutral host may be used. Modified crosshairs are NOT allowed to be used by players (i.e., the actual image seen on the screen). Modified skins or ACID skins is forbidden and is considered cheating. (That Includes breath) Glitching as in fragging roofs is cheating (where it the frag falls through the roof to kill people) and will be dealt with severely. ALL IN GAME NAMES MUST BE SPELLED SIMILIAR THERE ZONE NAMES IN ALL MATCHES! When the GAME is ABORTED, When the game is launched again, the inserts are to be put on to where the inserts were in the match where the abort takes place. During the course of a match, a team is allowed to pick the same map no more then 2 times Postponement of Matches is not allowed at all. Once the first game is played, that constitutes the beginning of the match. Leaving the match will be an automatic forfeit. I suggest all clans to make sure all players can finish the match before playing. Use of Voice Communication Programs are allowed and encouraged for team play. We ask all clans to please notify your opponent of use of such programs. Cheating Cheating on Clan Ladder is prohibited and players and clans will be dealt severely. Having any type of cheat programs installed or downloaded on your computer is prohibited. Excuses will not Save you! Do not give us an excuse that you were seeing if it worked, I was going to try to make a cheat patch. Curiosity killed the cat, so curiosity killed your account! If we see any player or clan admit to this we will take action immediately. No clan may change thier clan name if they are ranked 1-50. You may asked to be bumped to 51 and change your name if you are ranks 1-50. If you are caught changing your name and you are rank 1-50, you will be bumped to 101. Scabbing The use of scabs is Forbidden. There are 2 forms of scabbling. Having a player that is NOT on the clan roster play for you. Giving away your nick password for someone to use and play. Some Basic Rules and notes. For any Clans in top 50, there players playing in that match should be on the roster for at least 48 hours prior to game time. ( This must be checked by the clans not admins) Please check your roster on the clan database and be sure it is up to date. ONCE the game is played, All Players are considered as part of the clan and not scabs. Except for rule 2 above. Check all ROSTERS on there Clan Profile (CWNID) in the Clan Database before the game begins. During the course of a match, an infinite number of player substitutions is allowed. (Be sure to check the roster if a new player enters the game if your unsure if he is a real player or not) DROP RULE If a player disconnects during the loading phase of a game or within 10 seconds of the start, the game is null and void. If a player disconnects after 10 seconds, he is considered killed in action. If a player is stuck during a game (such as on a ladder or cannot switch to gun), the game is aborted, but players already dead will not play in the next game. If the server crashes during a game, the game resumes with the players left alive only. The modification of files that regulate player skill (e.g. constants.txt) is strictly prohibited. Inactivity & Removal: We will not tolerate inactivity on our ladder, and the higher ranked you are, the more we expect of you. For EVERYONE on the ladder, if you have not played a game for a period of 21 days, you will be deleted from the ladder. They wanna bicker to go to a private room or use the Unmoderated Gripe Board. Posting any URLs or Links that deflame, show glitching, or accuse clans of cheating will result in action taken against the player and clan who he is involved with. Please do not make websites to get public opinion. Just send all the files to an admin and Clan Ladder will take care of it. We cannot control in-game conduct, but we do not want you to be subjected to bad conduct by other clans. If a clan is acting with bad sportsmanship, please take screenshots and send them to a ladder admin after the game is played. The game still does count. If we find them acting wrong, we will take action. Any defamatory remarks towards any admin will result in action, no matter where it is. We are working hard for you we do not need bad mouthing.
